Lyndon Hermyle LaRouche Jr.



LaRouche, Lyndon Hermyle, Jr. (1922– ), U.S. political leader and thrice-unsuccessful candidate for the presidency of the United States. In 1948, he began his career with the progressive Socialist Worker's Party, but in the 1970s he began to ally himself with reactionary interests, founding such organizations as the National Caucus of Labor Committees and the National Democratic Policy Committee. In 1989 he was sentenced to 15 years in prison for mail fraud and conspiracy.
