Philip Livingston



Livingston, Philip (1716–78), U.S. political leader, signer of the Declaration of Independence. A delegate to both the Stamp Act Congress (1765) and the Continental Congress (1774–78), Livingston was also an early promoter of King's College, which later became Columbia University in New York City.
