Vince Lombardi

Lombardi, Vince (1913–70), U.S. football coach of the Green Bay Packers of the National Football League (NFL). Under Lombardi's leadership (1959–68) the Packers won 5 NFL titles and two Super Bowls (1967, 68). Known for his intense, uncompromising style of coaching, Lombardi is given credit for coining the phrase “winning isn't everything, its the only thing.” He was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1971.
