Auguste Lumière brothers

Lumière brothers, Auguste (1862–1954) and Louis Jean (1864–1948), French inventors noted for their “Cinématographe,” a motion-picture camera/projector. The Lumiere brothers are credited with producing the first movie, whose title in English is Lunch Break at the Lumiere Factory. Although the Cinématographe was patented in 1895, the brothers did not regard it as important as some of their improvements in color photography.
