Malayo-Polynesian languages

Malayo-Polynesian languages, or Austroenesian languages, family of some 500 languages found throughout the Central and South Pacific, especially in Malaysia and the Indonesian islands. There are 2 main groups: Oceanic to the east and Indonesian to the west.
