Sir Thomas Malory

Malory, Sir Thomas (?–1471), English author who wrote La Morte d'Arthur. With romances (adventure stories) a favorite genre of his time, Sir Thomas Malory was the first to write, in English, the popular and legendary tales of King Arthur and his Knights of the Round Table. Believed to be completed in 1470, a first edition was printed by the first English printer, William Caxton (1485).
