Manitoba, University of, major educational institution of Manitoba, in western Canada. Located in Fort Garry, a Winnipeg suburb, it was founded in 1877 and is coeducational and government-supported. The university offers undergraduate and graduate programs and degrees and consists of 4 separate colleges. There is also a branch in Winnipeg specializing in the health sciences.
