Frederick Marryat
Marryat, Frederick (1792–1848), English author. An officer in the British Navy who spent 24 years at sea, Marryat's books all had maritime adventure themes. His best-known works are Frank Mildmay (1829), The King's Own (1830), and Mr. Midshipman Easy (1836).
