Marshall Plan

Marshall Plan, or European Recovery Program, program designed to help Europe's economic recovery after World War II, named for its originator, U.S. Secretary of State George C. Marshall. From 1948 to 1948 to 1952, material and financial aid amounting to almost $13 billion dollars was sent by the United States to the 17 European countries who formed the Organization for European Economic Cooperation (OEEC). The plan was administered by the Economic Cooperation Administration (ECA).
