Marten

Marten, any of several large mammals (genus Martes) of the weasel family with valuable fur. The home of the marten is the pine forests of North America, Europe, and Asia. In Europe martens are also called sables. Their prey is mainly squirrels. American species include the American marten and the larger fisher or pekan.
