Philip Massinger
Massinger, Philip (1583–1640), English dramatist known for satirical comedies. Among his works are A New Way to Pay Old Debts (1621), The City Madam (1632), and the romantic tragedy The Duke of Milan (1621).He often collaborated with others, such as John Fletcher. A moralist, he criticized the frivolity in society.
