Sir Robert John Le Mesurier McClure

McClure, Sir Robert John Le Mesurier (1807–73), English arctic explorer and naval officer. On a search (1850–53) in the Arctic Archipelago for Sir John Franklin, he discovered McClure Strait and became the first to prove the existence of the Northwest Passage.
