Hans Memling
Memling, Hans (1430–94), Flemish painter famous for his portraits and religious works, including the paneled Shrine of St. Ursula (1489). The German-born Memling (or Memlinc) worked in Bruges, Belgium, and was probably a pupil of Rogier van der Weyden.
