Glenn Miller
Miller, Glenn (1904–44), U.S. trombonist and bandleader of the big band “swing” era of the late 1930s and early 1940s. His blend of instrumental colors, the “Glenn Miller sound,” had great success. Among his most popular recordings were In the Mood, Moonlight Serenade, and Chattanooga Choo-Choo. He died in a plane crash in Europe during World War II.
