Moffat Tunnel

Moffat Tunnel, U.S. railroad tunnel, one of the longest, running for over 6 mi (9.7 km) through James Peak, Colo. The tunnel shortens the rail distance from Denver to Salt Lake City by 176 mi (283 km).
