Thelonious Monk
Monk, Thelonious (1917–82), U.S. composer, pianist, bandleader, and one of the innovators of modern jazz in the 1940s. His compositions “Round Midnight,” “52nd Street Theme,” “Epistrophy,” and “Straight No Chaser” are jazz standards.
