Toni Morrison
Morrison, Toni (Chloe Anthony Wofford; 1931– ), U.S. novelist. She is known for imaginative, poetic, emotional portrayals of individuals in relation to society and the African American experience in such novels as Song of Solomon (1977), Tar Baby (1981), the best-seller Beloved (1987, Pulitzer Prize), and Paradise (1998).
