Bay Psalm Book, The Whole Booke of Psalmes Faithfully Translated into English Metre, first book printed in colonial America. Published in Cambridge, Mass., in 1640 as a hymnal for the Massachusetts Bay Colony, it was the work of Richard Mather, John Eliot, and Thomas Weld, and was printed by Stephen Day.
