Bayreuth

Bayreuth (pop. 70,900), industrial city in northeastern Bavaria, Germany. It is famous as the last home of Richard Wagner and as the site of his opera house, the Festspielhaus. The Bayreuth festivals, held each summer since 1876, feature Wagner's music.
