Beaded lizard



Beaded lizard (Heloderma horridum), poisonous lizard found in Mexico, close relative of the Gila monster. It is slow-moving, with small bead-like scales and markings of alternate black and pink-orange rings, and has hooked, grooved teeth. Glands along the inside of the lower lip secrete poison.
