Bean beetle

Bean beetle, insect (Epilachna varivestis) of the order of beetles (Coleoptera), and the ladybug family (Coccinellidae). A serious pest to bean plants in Mexico, the bean beetle was accidentally introduced into Alabama around 1920, and later spread through the central and eastern United States and southern Canada.
