Busby Berkeley



Berkeley, Busby (1895–1976), U.S. choreographer and film director who revolutionized the staging of musical production numbers in Hollywood films. He introduced lavish settings, revolving platforms, and giant staircases upon which hundreds of extras performed in such extravaganzas as 42nd Street (1933), Gold Diggers of 1933, and The Gang's All Here (1942).
