Bernhardt, Sarah (Henriette Rosine Bernard; 1844–1923), French actress. Renowned for her great emotional power, she was the leading performer in classical French theater, appearing in roles created by Victorien Sardou and Edmond Rostand, among others. She made several triumphant worldwide tours.
