Joseph Elzéar Bernier

Bernier, Joseph Elzéar (1852–1934), Canadian explorer renowned for his arctic voyages. Bernier staked Canada's claim to all the North American arctic islands, captained a dozen voyages to the arctic, and journeyed around the world several times.
