Bjørnstjerne Martinius Bjørnson
Bjørnson, Bjørnstjerne Martinius (1832–1910), Norwegian poet, critic, novelist, dramatist, and politician, winner of the Nobel Prize in literature (1903). Initially concentrating on themes of Norwegian history, he later wrote about modern social problems. Among his writings was the novel Flags Are Flying in Town and Port (1884).
