Black-eyed Susan

Black-eyed Susan, hardy annual or biennial coneflower (Rudbeckia hirta), the state flower of Maryland. Sometimes called yellow daisy, it bears 20 to 40 orange-yellow ray flowers around a group of darker brown florets.
