Harry Andrew Blackmun

Blackmun, Harry Andrew (1908– ), U.S. lawyer named to the U.S. Court of Appeals in 1959 and appointed Supreme Court justice by President Nixon in 1970. Blackmun has upheld liberal positions on civil and reproductive rights while remaining conservative in other respects.
