Blair House
Blair House, official guest house of the U.S. government, on Pennsylvania Ave. in Washington, D.C. It was used as a temporary White House by President Truman (1948–52). The house, built in 1824, was named for its second owner, Francis Preston Blair, whose family sold it to the government in 1942.
