Blueberry

Blueberry, any of several hardy deciduous shrubs (genus Vaccinium) bearing a blue-black fruit, many species of which are found in North America. The high-bush blueberry (V. cerymbosum), which may reach 15 ft (4.6 m) in height, and the low-bush blueberry (V. augustifolium) are the two most commonly cultivated. A popular component of jellies, jams, and pastry fillings, blueberries are frequently canned and frozen.
