Broad bean



Broad bean, Windsor bean, or horse bean (Vicia faba), annual plant producing seed pods up to 1 ft (30 cm) long, containing large edible beans. An important food in early civilizations of North Africa and southwest Asia, it is one of the most widely cultivated beans in Europe and Latin America, and is also grown for fodder.
