Louis Victor Broglie Prince de

Broglie, Louis Victor, Prince de (1892–1987), French physicist, awarded the 1929 Nobel Prize in physics for his suggestion that subatomic particles would display wave-like properties under appropriate conditions. The prediction was borne out experimentally, and de Broglie's theories led to the branch of quantum mechanics called wave mechanics.
