Brooklyn Bridge



Brooklyn Bridge, world's first steel-wire suspension bridge. It spans 1,595 ft (486 m) over the East River and joins the boroughs of Brooklyn and Manhattan. Built 1869–83 by J. A. Roebling and his son, W. A. Roebling, it was the largest suspension bridge in the world at the time of its completion.
