Anthony Burgess
Burgess, Anthony (1917–93), English writer, best known for A Clockwork Orange (1962), a bitter satire about a violent gang leader in a corrupt, violent society of the near future. His other works include Inside Mr. Enderby (1961), Earthly Powers (1980), The Kingdom of the Wicked (1985), and the critical study Re Joyce (1965).
