Arthur Frank Burns
Burns, Arthur Frank (1904–87), Austrian-born U.S. economist. An expert on the business cycle, he served as presidential adviser on economics 1953–56 and on labor management 1961–66. Among his many books, the most influential was Measuring Business Cycles (1946), written with Wesley Clair Mitchell.
