James Mallahan Cain
Cain, James Mallahan (1892–1977), U.S. writer of crime novels admired for their accuracy of dialogue and characterization. His best-known works are The Postman Always Rings Twice (1934), Serenade (1937), Mildred Pierce (1941), and Double Indemnity (1943), which have been made into films.
