Italo Calvino



Calvino, Italo (1923–85), Italian writer notable for his use of fantasy. Calvino has written in several genres, including science fiction and historical allegory, but he received his greatest acclaim for Italian Folktales (1956) and the experimental If on a Winter's Night a Traveler (1979; trans. 1981).
