Carbon dioxide



Carbon dioxide (CO2), colorless, odorless, incombustible gas, consisting of 1 carbon atom and 2 oxygen atoms. Carbon dioxide is formed during respiration (as a waste product of the body), combustion, and organic decomposition. The air we breathe is 0.03% carbon dioxide. It is used by plants during photosynthesis.
