Celery



Celery, biennial vegetable (Apium graveolens) related to parsley and carrots, eaten either raw or cooked. The seeds are used for seasoning. Celery grows best in cool weather and consists of long stalks topped with feathery leaves. It was first cultivated in France in the early 1600s.
