Sir Ernst Boris Chain
Chain, Sir Ernst Boris (1906–79), German-born English biochemist who helped develop penicillin for clinical use. He shared with Howard W. Florey and Alexander Fleming the 1945 Nobel Prize for physiology or medicine.
