Thomas Chatteron
Chatteron, Thomas (1752–70), English poet who at the age of 12 wrote poems in pseudomedieval English that he presented as the work of a 15th-century monk, Thomas Rowley. Despite the success of a burlesque opera, The Revenge (1770), he remained destitute and poisoned himself at age 17.
