Frederick Edwin Church
Church, Frederick Edwin (1826–1900), U.S. landscape painter noted for his portrayal of light on large canvases. He was a student of Thomas Cole and the most famous member of the Hudson River School. Among his best known works are Niagara and Heart of the Andes.
