Kenneth Bancroft Clark



Clark, Kenneth Bancroft (1914– ), U.S. psychologist whose 1950 report on school segregation was cited in the Supreme Court's 1954 ruling against segregated public schools. A professor at City College of New York (1942–75), he was active in many civil rights and educational organizations and was the first black member of the New York State Board of Regents (1966). His books include Prejudice and Your Child (1955), Dark Ghetto (1965), and The Pathos of Power (1974).
