Van Cliburn

Cliburn, Van (Harvey Lavan Cliburn, Jr; 1934– ), U.S. concert pianist. He became world famous after winning the International Tchaikovsky Piano Competition in Moscow in 1958. An international event of the same kind is now held annually in his name in the United States.
