Communion
Communion, in Christian churches, name for the sacrament of the Lord's Supper. Communion, from the Latin word for “participation,” is a ritual repetition of the Last Supper before Christ's crucifixion, when he told his disciples, “Take, eat. This is my body This is my blood This do in remembrance of me.” In most Christian churches, the rite of communion involves the eating of a wafer of unleavened bread and the drinking of wine.
