Cooperative education
Cooperative education, method of combining classroom and practical work experience. The professor Herman Schneider first initiated cooperative education in the United States by developing a program for engineers at the University of Cincinnati in 1906. Typically, formal written agreements between schools and employers allow students to hold jobs, usually for pay, related to their field of study.
