Cooperative Extension System

Cooperative Extension System, U.S. nationwide educational network. Funded by the government at federal, state, and county levels and by private contributions, the cooperative extension system provides information to community members about farming, natural resources, child care, the development of community resources, and nutrition. Most major U.S. counties and cities have at least one county extension office. The 4-H program for young people falls under the auspices of the Cooperative Extension System.
