Corcoran Gallery of Art, art museum in Washington, D.C. Founded by the banker William Wilson Corcoran (1869) and chartered by the U.S. Congress (1870), the museum exhibits paintings, sculptures, and drawings that span U.S. history from colonial to modern times. The museum also presents changing exhibitions and offers educational courses.
