Corn oil
Corn oil, vegetable oil derived from the kernel of the corn plant. In processing, machines separate the germ (or embryo) from the rest of the corn kernel. Then the oil is extracted from the rest of the kernel. Corn oil is made up of about 55% polyunsaturated fat, which many nutritionists consider an essential element in a healthy diet. It is used in cooking and as a salad oil, as well as in margarine and potato chips.
