Corporation for Public Broadcasting



Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB), U.S. non-profit organization formed to promote public television and radio. The CPB is funded by the federal government and contributes financially to the nearly 500 public television and radio stations in the United States that broadcast its programs uninterrupted by commercials. CPB is most noted for its research, testing, financing, production, and distribution of educational and cultural programs. CPB was created by Congress in 1967.
