Coureurs de bois



Coureurs de bois, French-Canadian adventurers, who in the late 1600s and early 1700s, traded furs with the Native Americans. Through their extensive trading contracts with the Native Americans they were able to assist the French in forming strong military pacts against the English in the French and Indian wars.
